About Us
Who are we?
Fako America Youths is a nonprofit organization made up of Bakweri youths around the United States of America and Canada. The Bakweri tribe is made of people from some of the villages in the Fako Division of Cameroon, a country in central Africa. The Bakweri tribe’s common language is called the Mokpe or Bakweri dialect.
Our Mission
We strive to encourage youthful engagement in different aspects of our culture, while building lifelong relationships and providing services to the less privileged.
Our Vision
Fako America Youths, through our powerful web of dedicated members, devoted partners, and generous donors, is always ready to unite and serve. FAY aims to convert our love for our culture and our resources into action, which will result in providing for the needy. We aim to:
- Unite Bakweri youths in the Fako Diaspora community in the United States of America and Canada. Together we shall work on related issues preservation and promotion of our Bakweri culture, history, and land.
- Be a close-knit group of youths that support and help to elevate one another.
- Provide a networking forum for members to explore and make use of academic, professional, and other significant opportunities for our members.
- Execute service projects all over the USA and Canada to provide help underserved communities.
- Carry out philanthropic projects in Cameroon to improve the living conditions of the people of Bakweri People, as well as those in the southwest region.
- Cultivate strong partnerships that will lead to impactful services and projects to help our Bakweri people in a natural crisis.
- Improve access to health care in Africa, reduce poverty and youth unemployment, promote health education and wellness for all ages.

Fako America Youths (FAY) welcomes both Bakweri youths and spouses of full FAY members between the ages of 18 – 35 years of age.
